Shamarukh Mohiuddin is a Principal Associate at Nathan Associates specializing in enterprise development and trade facilitation. She works with governments across Asia and Latin America to dismantle legal and structural barriers to women’s economic empowerment and on harnessing the resources of the private sector for global economic empowerment. She provides advisory services to policymakers and corporate leaders of Fortune 500 companies as well as leads in-depth economic research studies on countries in Asia and Latin America.
Throughout her 15+ year career in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, she has worked on women’s economic empowerment, trade policy, public private partnerships, workforce development, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, corporate social responsibility and a range of policy advisory services. The geographic focus of her work has included Asia, Latin America and Africa.
Ms. Mohiuddin co-chairs a committee at the Society for International Development and is a member of the Advisory Board at Women Forward International incubated at the Aspen Institute. Before joining Nathan, she served as the Director of Economic Empowerment at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation where she provided leadership on the social investment efforts of global Fortune 500 companies. Some of her prior roles include serving as Executive Director at U.S. Bangladesh Advisory Council, President at Lift Up Asia, Director at Fontheim International and GlobalWorks Foundation. Ms. Mohiuddin has a Masters in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies and Bachelors in Economics and International Affairs from the University of Maine.
