Chief Financial Officer

Christopher Laurent manages FINCA’s global finance team and brings three decades of experience in domestic and international financial services and development finance. He possesses extensive financial management and capital markets knowledge. His professional accomplishments span several continents, from Cambodia to Bolivia to the United Kingdom, in both commercial enterprises and grassroots nonprofits.

Before FINCA, Christopher spent six years as Chief Financial Officer at VisionFund International (a division of World Vision International), where he was responsible for all financial, investment and capital markets operations of its 28-country microfinance network. Previously, he was Managing Director and CFO of MicroVest Capital Management, responsible for the finance, administration and strategic planning functions of the impact investment fund manager and the investment vehicles it managed.

Prior to entering the microfinance and impact investment sectors in 2006, Christopher served for six years as Vice President of Finance and Administration with a Silicon Valley software company.  Previously Christopher worked in corporate finance with a major US bank and began his career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen.  He has masters and B.S. degrees in accounting and business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Christopher is presently based in London.
